Many fields of industry such as energetics, manufacturing or processing plants are specific in terms of complex technology over whole power plants and sites. These technologies often contain a significant number of electrical machines both the rotating electrical machines and the transformers. As these machines may be often considerable investments, it is often recommended to maintain and treat them as important assets. Hence, assets’ owners should implement a system of asset management, which deals with the whole life cycle of aforementioned assets. This contribution claims to introduce such a system, relevant standards and to outline possible implementation in the field of electrical machines as well as their diagnostics and maintenance in a context.
