This PhD workshop addressed the need to discuss ethical and methodological questions particular to the field of sociology of health and illness, its specific aim was to help social science doctoral students and young researchers working in the field, tofind appropriate ways of dealing with ethical and methodological dilemmas in their research. The workshop participants submitted their workshop papers 2 months beforehand. During the workshop they were grouped into 5 sessions which were chaired by mentors who were experienced scholars in the field. The participants briefly presented their research and questions at hand and then they received comments from a discussant, a mentor and other participants. The workshop included two keynote lectures on the topic and a concluding discussion.
