Der Aufsatz beschäftigt sich mit dem historischen Soziolekt Hantec, der sich am Ende des 19. Jh. in den Vorstädten der damaligen mährischen Hauptstadt Brünn in niedrigen sozialen Schichten herausbildete. Grundlage der Untersuchung ist ein von Otakar Nováček 1929 veröffentlichtes, über 800 Lexeme umfassendes Glossar. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt dabei auf den Toponymen im Brünner Stadtgebiet, deren lautliche und morphologische Gestalt eine direkte Übernahme aus den oberdeutschen (bairisch-österreichischen) Mundarten dokumentiert. Anhand zahlreicher Beispiele wird gezeigt, dass gerade jene Dialektismen bis heute von Teilen der Brünner Stadtbevölkerung als inoffizielle Namen neben den offiziellen tschechischen Bezeichnungen verwendet werden und vereinzelt sogar einen ,Kultstatus‘ genießen: als zentrale Erinnerungsorte regionaler Identifikation mit latenter Abgrenzungsfunktion gegenüber Prag.

The paper deals with the historical sociolect Hantec which developed at the end of the 19th century in the suburbs of the then Moravian capital Brno in low social classes. The basis of the study is a glossary published by Otakar Nováček in 1929 containing over 800 lexemes. The focus is set on the toponyms in the Brno urban area whose phonetical and morphological shape document a direct transfer from Upper German (Bavarian-Austrian) dialects. Numerous examples show that even today dialectisms of this kind are used by parts of the Brno city population as unofficial appellations among the official Czech names and in some cases even got a ‘cult status’: as central memorial sites for regional identification with a latent demarcation function from Prague.
