Anhand eines aktuellen Beispiels illustriert der Beitrag einen gegenwärtigen Trend in der Studiengangentwicklung der tschechischen Germanistik, welcher der Einrichtung anwendungsbezogener, interdisziplinärer Arealstudiengänge gilt: Seit dem Wintersemester 2019/20 bietet der Lehrstuhl für Germanistik und Slawistik der Westböhmischen Universität Pilsen einen Masterstudiengang an, der das Bundesland Bayern aus der Perspektive verschiedener geistes- und gesellschaftswissenschaftlicher Fachdisziplinen in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Das Ziel der vorgestellten Arealstudien: Bayernstudien ist es, ihre Absolventen fachlich, sprachlich und interkulturell optimal auf eine berufliche Tätigkeit im Bereich Wirtschaft, Tourismus und Kultur mit Partnern aus dem Freistaat Bayern vorzubereiten.

By means of a relevant example, the article illustrates a current trend in the curriculum development of German studies in the Czech Republic pertaining the establishment of application-related, interdisciplinary area studies: Since the winter term 2019/20, the department of German and Slavonic studies at the university of Western Bohemia in Pilsen has been offering a master’s degree focussing on the federal state of Bavaria from the perspective of various humanistic and social science disciplines. The aim of the presented Area Studies: Bavarian Studies is to prepare their graduates optimally in professional, linguistic and intercultural aspects for a career in business, tourism and culture with partners from the Free State of Bavaria.
