Lecture at the conference:The paper is a philosophical contribution to conceptual issues surrounding vividness and to some degree the relation between vividness and attention. The notion of "vividness" is quite extensively engaged in psychophysics and generally in science about consciousness. It is reasonable to ask, then, what exactly does it stand for to be vivid or to have vivid experience. Drawing on Fazekas's distinction between subjective specificity and subjective intensity, I will attempt to propose an understanding of vividness as a content-free dimension of intensity that is modulated by attention and phenomenal character.name of the event: Integrating Attention into Consciousness Researchvenue: Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München (LMU), Munichstart date: 06.06.2024end date: 07.06.2024
