Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht das Vorkommen wahrscheinlicher Importe südböhmischer Graphitkeramik aus dem 12. bis 13. Jahrhundert bzw. deren Imitationen in Ostbayern sowie in Österreich. Auf Grundlage der Auswertung mittelalterlicher Keramikkomplexe aus Südböhmen in den letzten Jahren lässt sich eine typische Produktion von Graphitkeramik definieren. Diese umfasst vor allem hohe, schlanke, tonnenförmige Kochgefäße mit eingezogenem Hals, die mit tropfenförmigen Einstichen verziert sind. Ergänzt wird dieses Spektrum durch Vorratsgefäße mit profiliertem Rand sowie glockenförmige Topfdeckel. Derartige Gefäßformen treten in Burgen und Städten Ostbayerns sowie Ober- und Niederösterreichs im 12. und 13. Jahrhundert nur selten auf. Die Funde keramischer Importe zeugen von wechselseitigen kulturellen, politischen, sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Verflechtungen sowie Kontakten zwischen benachbarten Regionen. Diese Beziehungen intensivierten sich insbesondere ab der Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts im Zusammenhang mit der Ausdehnung des Herrschaftsbereichs des böhmischen Königs Přemysl Ottokar II. in den Donauraum.

The following paper examines the presence of probable imports of South Bohemian graphite-ware pottery of the 12th to the 13th centuries or their imitations in Eastern Bavaria and Austria. Based on the assessment of medieval pottery assemblages from South Bohemia in recent years, a typical graphite pottery production can be defined, consisting of a taller, slender barrel-shaped cooking pot with an indented neck decorated with drop-shaped incisions. This is complemented by storage vessels with an edged rim and bell-shaped pot-lids. These findings are seldom encountered in castles and towns in eastern Bavaria and Upper/Lower Austria during the 12th and 13th centuries. The finds of ceramic imports bear witness to the mutual cultural, political, social, and economic ties and contacts between neighbouring regions. These relationship intensified, especially after the mid-13th century, in connection with the expansion of the realm of the Bohemian king Přemysl Ottokar II. into the Danube region.
