Sustainable Development as an Aspect of Improving Economic Performance of a Company. The chapter 16 in the book Sustainable Development: Policy and Urban Development - Tourism, Life Science, Management and Environment
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This chapter, the result of 3-years research of the authors, deals with the topic of corporate social responsibility (CSR). More precisely, it addresses the environmental and economic component of the CRS representing the "Eco-efficiency" concept, practically applied through so-called voluntary environmental instruments. A proactive approach towards the environmental issues related to company production and business activities is beneficial not only in terms of reducing operating costs and increasing sales, but also for the non-financial benefits accruing to the corporate value creation. In this chapter, the relationship between a company's environmental profile and its economic performance is analysed. The main aim of this chapter is to introduce a conceptual model "B2En Performance Development", which was designed by the authors to carry out more detailed analyses of the mutual cohesion between environmental and economic performance of a company.
