Contemporary modern companies regularly apply tools of project management when they introduce their strategies. The practice shows that for successful development it is necessary to manage more advanced attitudes as well as to be able to work with portfolios and all that has lately been accompanied by introducing elements of multi-project management. Managing these approaches requires a high level of theoretical knowledge not only for the project managers but for all the project team staff. The studiescarried out by the authors of the article in the Federal Republic of Germany and by the company EY both in the Czech Republic and in the Federal Republic of Germany confirmed that the application of sophisticated tools of project management is necessaryfor maintaining competitiveness of companies in the global environment. At the same time reserves and limits of organisations have been found when observing the crucial parameters of the controlled projects. As is obvious from the study,
