The retail business is exposed to threats resulting from the tight competition mainly on the FMCG market, but it also has opportunities in the form of various types of cooperation and business management. One such example are the measures adopted by consumer cooperatives in the Czech Republic (the COOP Group). Worthy of attention and a thorough analysis are mainly the opportunities in the following areas: joint purchasing using a procurement center, store chain system and services offered in stores.
