This paper investigates and assesses the impact of the Czech Republic joining the EU on selected types of international economic relations: international commerce, the movement of foreign direct investment and the international migration of workforce. The engagement of the Czech Republic in European integration processes, the high point of which was the country joining the European Union, has had a considerable impact on the Czech economy and its engagement in international economic relations. As earlyas in the pre-accession period, the territorial structure of foreign trade of the Czech Republic changed as the orientation to EU-member countries, especially Germany, became more prominent. Once the Czech Republic joined the EU, the country's foreign trade started undergoing dynamic development. The national economy's orientation to the EU is also visible in the domain of direct foreign investment. In the long-term view, nearly 90% of FDI received by the Czech Republic comes from EU cou
