This paper describes a telephone dialog system used at the University of West Bohemia as an automatic response system offering students the possibility of obtaining their university entrance examination results through a telephone network. The results are usually exhibited on the university web pages as soon as they are available. One way by which the necessary information may be obtained is therefore to visit the mentioned web pages using Internet. However, not everybody has this possibility at least in a reasonably short time. We propose alternative way of obtaining these results using telephone access to the university information server. The system is able to recognize and process user voice questions and communicates using synthesized computer voice. The system is able to handle more telephone calls concurrently.
