The level of knowledge about the INSPIRE Directive is until now very low especially among local and regional policy makers and public servants. The awareness of GMES, GEOSS and SEIS activities is almost zero. The aim of the workshop is to bring the experience from the European projects including Plan4all, SDI-EDU for regional and urban planning, NaturNet Plus and others to regions, public authorities, local and regional ICT (GIS) companies which are the key partners for implementation of local and regional infrastructures. There are lots of projects which main objective is education about SDI and environmental ICT or which have this as part of their activities. From the projects directly focused on education we could mentioned SDI EDU, Vesta GIS project and NaturNet plus. From the projects, which partly cover SDI education, we could mentioned Humboldt or Genesis. The lack of coordination, integration and exchange of information in these activities should be the main aim and purpose of
