The presented project is located in the area of a castle, deals with very detailed data and is realized using combination of photorealistic and non-photorealistic approach. The Castle Kozel (built in classicist style) was selected for a research of detailed spatial register of cultural heritage in 2006. The research is realized in cooperation of National Heritage Institute of the Czech Republic and University of West Bohemia. There has been acquired a lot of both attribute and spatial data during the research. The data is stored in detailed geographic database (structured in accordance with national geographic database of cultural heritage). Alongside of classic maps used for two dimensional representation of the data, also three dimensional model wascreated. While maps are used for register and even research purposes, 3D models are best suited for presentation and promotional purposes - which is also an important aspect of a care of cultural heritage.
