Characterization of cork/rubber composite and modeling of observed mechanical behavior
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Cork has been used for the last five thousand years. Its properties are indispensable to many applications, from wine bottles to aeronautics. Recently, cork has been combined with other materials, thereby new possibilities of cork utilization have been initiated. One of the cork based composite material is cork/rubber composite which is usually used to damp vibration. Characterization of ACM87 (AMORIM cork composites) cork/rubber composite and modelling of observed mechanical behaviour was the aim of this work. ACM 87 mechanical properties were investigated using tension and compression tests. Created finite element models captured nonlinear static response as well as viscoelastic behaviour. To introduce the time dependency of the material behaviour, the concept of free energy was used. As a suitable representation of the initial free energy function, the polynomial form of the first and second strain invariant (generalized Mooney-Rivlin model) was chosen. The compressibility of the ma
