Novel limiting process of the discontinuous Galerkin method applied to shallow water equations
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Shallow Water Equations are suitable for the modeling of the free surface flow when the horizontal scales of a liquid mass are much bigger than the vertical scale and vertical flows are negligible. The mathematical model of the Shallow Water Equations can be solved by the discontinuous Galerkin method. In present talk a new criterion for defining 'troubled' finite element cells is proposed and the limiting process for the discontinuous Galerkin method is suggested. This novel process is suitable for computations around wet/dry interface in the computational area, when the water depth approaches zero value, as well as for limiting oscillations of the solution around the shocks.
