Finite element model focused on stress distribution in the levator ani muscle during vaginal delivery in the persistence of an initial occiput posterior position
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The FEM model of female pelvic floor was developed. Using that, the changes in the levator ani muscle (LAM) were simulated considering the followings – the occiput posterior position (OPP) of the fetal head, its movements respecting the cardinal movements of the labor spec. persistence of OPP. Secondly, observed intrapartum changes in the LAM were compared to our previous simulation of the fetus in the occiput anterior position (OAP). The results show that the cardinal movements of labor significantly affect the subsequent stress distribution in LAM. Comparing the case of the persistence of initial OPP and the OAP, the absolute stress values are much higher.
