Objective: The birth of a baby is a great event in family life. However, this fact brings also great responsibility on the part of mothers, for the care and upbringing of the children. Especially primiparas at first can be afraid about whether they can care for the baby well and whether they will successfully manage problems connected to maternity. A great support for them could be a paediatric community nurse who would regularly visit mothers at home, would help them to obtain assurance in care and simultaneously would make sure that the mother is able to take care of a newborn baby and infant. Methods: Research was made in the form of in-depth interviews. The researched group was created by mothers who are experienced with visits from a paediatric nurse in the infancy of their children. Five interviews were carried out in total. Results: The interviews resulted in the fact that mothers found many positives in the visiting service.
