The article asserts that the homilies of John Chrysostom "Against the Jews", despite some attempts of modern scholars to argue otherwise, were indeed directed against the Jews in the Roman Empire and not only towards the "Judaizing Christians"; furthermore, it maintains that the homilies had a major impact on the attitude of the Christians towards the Jews in the Roman Empire in the decades to come.
