El autor dedica la atención a la recepción del nuevo mundo en la sociedad noble del Reino de Bohemia, especialmente en las cortes de Vilém y Petr Vok de Rosenberg. En su estudio trata de analizar los diferentes tipos de fuentes que otorgaban a los Rosenberg las noticias sobre el descubrimiento de América, el desarrollo de la conquista de la riqueza natural del continente americano y de su población indígena.

The main topic of this study is the way New World was perceived in Bohemian noble background, namely at the courts of Vilém and Petr Vok of Rosenberg. The author pays special attention to a couple of fundamental sources that provided the Rosenberg information about exploring expeditions, the conquest, natural riches of the American continent and its native inhabitants. These were the newspaper reports, geographic books or books of travels. Each of the brothers was different in their choices from the immense amount of information which was delivered to Rosenberg court according to their personalities, political attitudes and their confession of faith. The image of the New World and its inhabitants created by Vilém of Rosenberg is therefore fundamentallydifferent from the way his brother Petr Vok perceived the same matters.
