Die „Kinder- und Hausmärchen“ (KHM) der Brüder Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm sind zweifelsohne ein deutsches Kulturgut von Weltruf. Die erste Ausgabe erschien 1812, sechs weitere folgten bis 1857. Im Laufe ihrer Editionsgeschichte erfuhren die Märchentexte mehrere Überarbeitungen. Der Stil der Grimmschen Märchentexte gilt bis heute als prototypisch für eine ganze Textgattung.Die Forschung zu den Grimmschen Märchentexten ist vor allem in den Kulturwissenschaften angesiedelt. Die Erzählforschung konzentriert sich neben den Textquellen vor allem auf (regionale) Varianten einzelner Motivkomplexe sowie auf die Gewährsmänner und Erzähler hinter den Märchentexten. Für eine dezidiert sprachwissenschaftliche Untersuchung fehlt es noch an einer soliden Basis; Stilkritik ist noch ein Desiderat.Computergestützte Textanalysen sind nur rudimentär vorhanden. Eine Aufgabe der Grimm- Forschung muss es sein, die Texte der „Kinder- und Hausmärchen“ und die Forschungsmethoden der Digital Humanites zusammenzuführen. Eine breite Forschungskooperation zwischen Medieninformatikern und Germanisten würde ganz neue Erkenntnisgewinne bringen: Die Frage, welche stilistischen Merkmale im Laufe der Editionsgeschichte variiert wurden und auf welche Weise so der prototypische Märchenstil entstanden ist, kann durch eine Auswertung des gesamten Textmaterials der KHM geklärt werden. Entscheidende Vorarbeiten für eine umfassende korpuslinguistische Untersuchung der Märchentexte der Brüder Grimm sind bereits geleistet, denn alle sieben Ausgaben der „Kinder- und Hausmärchen“ zwischen 1812 und 1857 liegen in digitalisierter Form im Deutschen Textarchiv (DTA) vor. Das bedeutet, dass alle KHM-Publikationen von der ersten bis zur letzten Ausgabe computerlesbar sind.

The &quot;Kinder- und Hausmärchen&quot; (KHM) by the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm are undoubtedly a German cultural treasure of world renown. The first edition was published in 1812, followed by six more until 1857. In the course of their edition history, the fairy tale texts underwent several revisions. To this day, the style of the Grimm fairy tale texts is considered prototypical for an entire text genre.Research on the Grimm fairy tale texts is primarily located in cultural studies. In addition to the textual sources, narrative research focuses primarily on (regional) variants of individual motif complexes as well as the guarantors and narrators behind the fairy tale texts. There is still no solid basis for a decidedly linguistic study; stylistic criticism is still a desideratum.Computer-assisted text analysis is only available in rudimentary form. One task of Grimm research must be to unite the texts of the &quot;Kinder- und Hausmärchen&quot; and the research methods of the Digital Humanites. A broad research cooperation between media computer scientists and Germanists would generate completely new gains in knowledge: The question of which stylistic features were varied in the course of the history of the edition and in what way the prototypical fairy tale style was thus created can be clarified through an evaluation of the entire text material on the KHM. Decisive preparatory work for a comprehensive corpus linguistic study of the Brothers Grimm&apos;s fairy tale texts has already been done because all seven editions of the &quot;Kinder- und Hausmärchen&quot; between 1812 and 1857 are available in digitised form from the German Text Archive (DTA). This means that all KHM publications from the first to the last edition are computer-readable.
