Der Beitrag konzentriert sich auf den böhmischen Adel als Objekt und Subjekt der gegenreformatorischen Maßnahmen Ferdinands II. Er zeichnet die ersten Vorschläge des böhmischen katholischen Adels zur Gegenreformation des Königreichs und die Bemühungen des Staates nach, die religiösen Verhältnisse auf den Adelsgütern zu regeln, die sich gegen den nichtkatholischen Klerus und damit gegen die auf den Adelsgütern lebenden nichtkatholischen Untertanen richteten.
