Die Studie zeigt auf, welche Arten von Nachrichtenmedien der sächsische Kurfürst Johann Georg I. nutzte, um verlässliche Nachrichten über den Verlauf und die Aussichten des böhmischen Ständeaufstandes zu erhalten. Sie verweist in erster Linie auf die große Zahl handschriftlicher Zeitungen, die im Hauptstaatsarchiv Dresden aufbewahrt werden und die von den Geheimen Räten des Kurfürsten eingehend zur Kenntnis genommen worden sein müssen. Er verweist auch auf die gedruckten Zeitungen, die der Dresdner Hof aus Frankfurt am Main bestellt hat. Als dritte, aber äußerst wichtige Informationsquelle führt er die Berichte sächsischer Agenten an, von denen einer lange Zeit in Prag tätig war.

The study presents what types of news media were used by the Saxon Elector John George I to obtain reliable news about the course and prospects of the Czech Estates uprising. In the first place, it points to the huge number of handwritten newspapers that are stored in the Hauptstaatsarchiv Dresden and which the Elector&apos;s secret councillors must have read in detail. He also refers to the printed newspapers which the Dresden court ordered from Frankfurt am Main. As a third, but extremely important source of information, he mentions the reports of Saxon agents, one of whom was based in Prague for a long time.
