Five groups of people composing the Bavarian dukes´network of clients, agents, and informants made it possible to gain a closer knowledge of the individual actors whose task it was to promote the political interests of the Wittelsbachs at the imperial court of Rudolph II in Prague and to send reports to Munich about the activities of the emperor, his brothers and uncles, court dignitaries, foreign ambassadors, and the highest state officials of the Kingdom of Bohemia. According to the testimony of the Bavarian agents, the emperor usually granted audiences in one of the two antechambers to his chambers in Prague Castle, which were entered from the Ritterstube.
