Monitoring of thre Tichá Orlice river loading by xenoestrogenic substances by means of induction of vittelogenesis in male fish
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The induction of vittelogenesis in male fish, which can be diagnosed also as a vittelogenin content blood plasma, is a significant biological marker of surface waters loading by substances with estrogenic effect. Contaminated and control sites on th e Tichá Orlice river were studied during the monitoring of surface waters in the Czech republic. Blood sampling (from v. caudalis), centrifugation and deep freezing of blood plazma were performed in situ an monitored sites. Vittelogenin concentration in trout (S. trutta) blood plasma was assesed using ELISA test Rainbow trout vittelogenin EIA kit (Biosense Laboratories, Norway). Samples of fish tissues and bottom sediments for chemical analyses and evaluation of PCB, chlorinated pesticides and PAH concentrations (in bottom sediments) were collected on monitored sites. The sites on the Tichá Orlice river are monitored already for several years due to the long-term industrial pollution, which affected considerably the localpopulations of salm
