Monitoring of the Invasive Bryozoan Pectinatella magnifica in South Bohemia and the Influence of Weather Patterns on Its Occurrence
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Pectinatella magnifica is an invasive bryozoan that originated in North America. It is an invasive species in North America, Central America, Europe and Southeast Asia. The most significant area where this organism was found in the Czech Republic is the protected landscape area and biospheric reservation of Třeboňsko in South Bohemia. This organism is regularly monitored in this area, including the number and size of developer colonies. This monitoring was compared with weather patterns during monitoring years, and significant dependence was found between meteorological factors and colony development. The chapter will include a description of the invasive organism, a monitoring of its occurrence, and a comparison of colony development and weather patterns in the studied locality of the Třeboňsko area.
