Universalia – the society of Czech hermeticians originetes in the First Republic. After the Second World War, its activities were suspended and resumed in 1990 when the interrupted tradition of the first Universalia was fully rehabilitated. We deal with the historical documentation of this society (after 1990), and its public activities. The first years until 1993 were clearly influenced by seeking the organization of the society, its conception and function and development of its activities, which in the course of early 1990s weakened under the increasing pressure of complicated socio-economic conditions in our state. Universalia was based on two basic pillars: non-initiation and critically academic pillar, and practical-hermetic pillar. The first pillar activities are represented mainly by public lecturing at the National Museum, the second pillar activities include associating in the alchemical-kabbalistic section of Universalia. Over time there has been a stabilization and in the mid 1990's the organizational structure of Universalia has been fully institutionalized. In these years - public engagement of Universalia besides lecturing and gathering of the internal section - is considerable: Universalia participated in the exhibition of ancient manuscripts “ Regnum Alchymiae,” as well as in the exhibition “ Opus magnum,” it organized an international conference “ Prague, Alchemy and the Hermetic Tradition,” it co-organized the seminar “ The Happy Hour” and hosted celebrities such as S. Pečarič, R.Alleau, Ch.McIntosh, Halevi, Prinke and others. Its chairmen were: Milan Nakonečný (1990 - 1993), Ivo Chmelař (1993 - 1995), Vladislav Zadrobílek (1995-1997). In 1998 there was an internal crisis and the second pillar of Universalia entered a new stage of its development under the name Univerzalia.
