Invisible migrants within the pastoral task of the Church in the world: The Czech case of the Church of emigrants and for migrants
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Czechia is one of the few European Union countries from the former eastern bloc with positive net migration. Many people leave the country to live and work in the western states of the EU. However, numerous others come from the eastern and western states of the EU and non-EU countries to work in Czechia. This study deals with one particular aspect of this phenomenon: pastoral care for both immigrants in Czechia and emigrants from Czechia to other countries organised by the Czech Catholic Church. Based on a public sources overview and questioning of stakeholders survey, the study forms the agenda of so-called Czech missions in other EU countries and the primarily Greek Catholic pastoral care for migrant workers from the former USSR states in Czechia. Finally, the study formulates the pastoral hermeneutics and implications for pastoral ministry.
