Dieser Beitrag will Ratschläge für die Synode formulieren, und zwar hinsichtlich der Konsensfindung in der heutigen Gesellschaft und in der Kirche. Ein Beruf, der auf Konsensfindung in der Welt und in der Gesellschaft ausgerichtet ist, ist die Sozialarbeit. Seine hauptsächliche Methode ist die Gemeinwesenarbeit und dies sowohl im Allgemeinen als auch in den speziellen Praktiken, die der Konsensfindung in der lokalen Gemeinschaft dienen. Obwohl Sozialarbeit ein typischer Beruf in der säkularen Gesellschaft ist, stellt sie auch eine Inspirationsquelle dar sowohl für die Theologie als auch für den pastoralen Dienst. Sie ist Wissenschaft, aber auch eine Kunst. So soll dieser Beitrag die Methodik der Konsensfindung in der Sozialarbeit thematisieren, näherhin Gemeinwesenarbeit als pastorale Aufgabe der Kirche und der Pfarrei verstehen, und daraus Konsequenzen für die Synodalität der Kirche ableiten.

This chapter aims to formulate advice for the synod regarding consensus finding in today’s society and in the Church. One profession among others oriented to consensus finding in society is social work. Moreover, one of the core methods of social work is community development in general as well as in particular approaches oriented to consensus finding in the local, territorial community. Although social work is a typical profession of secular society, it is also a source of inspiration for both theology and pastoral service, like social work is both a science and an art. Therefore, this chapter should consider and propose consensus finding according to the social work method of community development to follow the pastoral task of the Church in the parish.
