Die A-Zuchtlinie der Przewalski-Pferde steht gefährlich nahe vor ihrer völligen Auslöschung. Sie trug bestens dazu bei, die ehemalige B-Zuchtlinie zu bereinigen und könnte frei von Hauspferd-Einkreuzungen sein. Auch wenn wir für einige Individuen der A-Linie einen möglichen Hybridstatus akzeptieren müssen, so bleibt das Gesamtbild das Gleiche - diese Zuchtlinie ist jene, die am wenigsten vom Hauspferd beeinflusst ist, während die übrigen Populationen des Przewalski-Pferdes (die so genannte M-Linie) vongenetischen Introgressionen geprägt ist, da sie auf B-Linie Pferden mit einem gewissen Einfluss von Seiten der A-Linie zurückgehen. Unter Berücksichtigung aller wissenschaftlicher Beweise und Wissenslücken muss festgehalten werden, dass die A-Linie sehrwichtig ist und auch nützlich, um die M-Linie weiterhin zu verbessern. The A-line of the Przewalski horse is perilously close to total extinction. This line has played an important part in improving the former B-line, and it could well be without introgression from domestic horses. Even if we were to accept a possible hybrid status of some individuals from the A-line, the general picture is the same - this line is the least influenced by the domestic horse, because remaining populations of the Przewalski horse (so called M-line) are influenced by cases of known introgression, because it is based on B-line horses with some input from A-line. Considering all scientific evidence and gaps in our knowledge, the A-line is very important, and useful also for continued improvement of the M-line, and it should be preserved intactand in good numbers for future generations, in parallel with the much more numerous M-line, which conserves greater genetic variability of the Przewalski horse gene pool but is known to have incorporated several domestic horses.
