Self-Consistent Particle Modelling of Plasma Sheaths Surrounding Probes with Various Geometries
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Low-temperature plasma is often used for many technological and plasma-chemical applications. The understanding of processes which take place in disturbed plasma is very important. In our contribution the transport of charged particles in the vicinity ofprobes of various geometries immersed into plasma was studied by means of computer experiment. The aim of modelling was to establish the limits of validity of models with restricted geometries. We shall present results obtained by self-consistent computer simulations for low-pressure discharge in argon plasma. For simulations of the transport of electrons and argon ions the particle-in-cell (PIC) method including null collision technique was used. In our model the most important scattering events wereincluded and were treated stochastically. Scattering events describe the interactions of charged particles with neutrals and are used in our simulation of low-temperature plasma with all used probes -- planar, cylindrical and spherical.
