The main aim of the article is an evaluation of the development of internal migration of population in the České Budějovice region between 1992 and 2004 in the context of the whole Czech Republic development. At first, it deals with the brief comparisonof some balance characteristics of the migration of the population of the South Bohemian region and its so-called ?small districts? (above all České Budějovice, Trhové Sviny a Týn nad Vltavou) with trends in the Czech Republic. Then there is follow the demarcation of the migration region of the city of České Budějovice on the base of the main migration relations between the city and particular municipalities. The mail attention focuses on more detailed analysis of the migration relations between the city of České Budějovice and its hinterland.
