Investigation of Adhesion Between Metal and Plasma-Modified Polyethylene
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Plasma modification of powder has recently attracted much interest because of new prospects to control the interfacial properties. Plasma modification also significantly enhanced the adhesion of the polymer to the substrate. The aim of this paper is to present the investigation of surface properties of plasma treated polyethylene powder. It was observed that incorporation of oxygen/containing groups improved wettability of the modified powder. Addition of oxygen/containing groups can positively influence adhesion of polyethylene to metal substrates. It was found that adhesion decreased with increasing crosslinking of polyethylene powder after plasma treatment. To decrease crosslinking and to reach high wettability the optimal conditions of modification(working gas, additional chemicals) were investigated. Modification in O2, H2O and methanol showed best results in adhesion simultaneously with good wettability. The adhesion of unmodified powder increased from 400 N up to 4000 N after m
