MOTIVATION FOR EXPERIENCES IN HIGH MOUNTAIN TOURISM
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
"Relaxation" is positively related to motivation foralpine hiking for women more than for men. "Challenge" is positively related to the motivation for alpine tourism for men more than for women. 'Discoveringthe beauty of the landscape' is positively related to satisfaction with tourism in general, regardless of the gender of the subjects. The results of the study contribute to the experiential health education literature in relation to active hiking in mountain environments with a focus on men and women. In addition, the results are relevant from a managerial perspective by providing important information to health promotion and tourism managers on the determinants of client decision-making. The results suggest that, particularly for middle-aged adults, the alpine environment is a powerful source of mental health recovery and protection. The study highlights the potential of landscape as a source of mental well- being. A heuristic framework is presented for use in future studies focusing on practical public health interventions from a geography and health education perspective.
