Developed countries can be characterized by the fact that, except other, the quality of life and its aspects are directly or vicariously a part of the fulfilment of social objectives and the realization of social interests. Variable approach to the definition of the quality of life and its indicators is further modified in the case of an investigation at the lower than the national level. The paper focuses in detail on economic and social aspects of the quality of life at the level of 77 Czech districts(LAU1).
