The project study the process of manual honing of the grinding wheel and define the effect of selected factors to the quality (roughness) of defined parts of permanent magnetic relay. Eaton Industries provided the set of the factors (parameters) and levels of the honing procedure currently applying. The effect of the factors, mathematical model and optimal setting of the value of individual factors was estimated based on the Design of Experiment (DoE) methodology. System response is the roughness of the parts of the relay. The roughness was measured by the standard procedure used by Eaton Industries. Eaton Industries realized all measurements of the roughness. Institute of complex systems proposed the experiments needed for the analysis together with the time schedule with the respect of the manufacture process and capacities during the project realization period. The outcomes of the analysis together with experiments and methodology description were provided in the form of final report.
