Diet composition and selectivity in 0+ perch (Perca fluviatilis L.) and its competition with adult fish and carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) stock in pond culture.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The study of perch fry food biology in polyculture with carp and parental fish was performed with fish originating from natural pond spawning. Zoobenthos was the main food resource of perch fry, particularly chironomid larvae supplemented by zooplankton(mostly cladocerans Bosmina longirostris, Chydorus sp., Ceriodaphnia sp., Alona sp. and copepods). Chironomid larvae and cladocerans showed the positive coefficients of selectivity. Perch fry > 25 mm did not consume rotifers. Chironomid larvae were alsothe most important food item of 2+ carp and adult perch. Cannibalistic nutrition with respect to their own progeny was registered in adult perch. Food similarity (= competition) between perch fry and adults amounted to 33.2% and between perch fry and 2+carp fluctuated between 2.3 - 34.8%. Adult perch and carp compete in 50.0% range.
