Top-crossing with paternal inheritance testing of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) progeny
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of this paper was to describe a method of testing in pond conditions at the level of topcrossing with paternal inheritance testing according to weight, survival and heterosis effect of the progeny in conditions of low and high altitudes with different year temperature course in Czech Republic. Weight, survival and heterosis was tested in hybrids by means of topcrossing at low and high altitudes (350 and 750 m, respectively) above the sea level. A Hungarian mirror carp strain (HSM) was chosen fortesting as a maternal strain. The HSM, a wild Amur carp strain (AC), Ropsha carp strain (ROP) and Tata carp strain (TAT) were used as paternal strains. The first season of the topcrossing test was performed by means of separate rearing of each group offry with controls in four ponds at each altitude. In the second and third season up to three-years-old carp were grown in communal stocks for all groups in three ponds at each altitude. Mean weight (# standard deviations) of 33 fish per cr
