Developments in the security environment after the end of Cold war suggest that there is a need to take appropriate approach to the defence planning. Defence planning system of the Czech republic does not have sufficient level of comprehensiveness to produce feasible plans for building capabilities. Defence planning process as an elementary tool of the defence planning, cannot be very different from NDPP and it has to exploit thorough analyses, concept development and experimentation and other available tools.
