Wars and operations conducted early at the 21st. century quite clearly show a remarkable shift of areas where they are conducted, thus, to the areas inhabited by ordinary civil population. Vast majority of current activities of operations of armed forcesis conducted in such areas, what is the main difference from the wars and conflicts conducted in the past that were conducted within the operational areas relatively isolated and free from civil populations. Understanding of this new type of environment- presence of civil population within the areas of operations, its control as well as finding the new ways of conducting the combat activities within such areas ? is becoming and imperative attribute of new ways of war fighting. Significance and role ofground forces in future operations is bolstered again by this newly emerged fact.
