The article deals with the implementation of controlling into the conditions of the management of central government authorities (the state administration) in Czech Republic. Its aim is to introduce controlling in the state administration as an effectivemanagement tool and to show the best praxis experience in Germany. The authors explain the theoretical basis and define essential requirements and conditions for the introduction of controlling. They express their opinion on the effectiveness of implementation of controlling in the Czech Republic state administrative on the example of the Ministry of Defence.
