ECONOMIC SECURITY FROM POINT OF VIEW OF RAW MATERIAL SUFFICIENCY AND DEFENCE FORCE
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This article aims to analyze the concrete development of two selected attributes of economic security. The first attribute is the raw material sufficiency of the Czech Republic, which is analyzed from 2000 to 2012. In this period, the Czech Republic had sufficient supplies of raw materials for domestic consumption, but the best results in the analyzed criteria were reached in most cases at the beginning of the period, in 2000. Sufficiency of raw materials is becoming increasingly important because raw materials are precious property in a limited amount. The second attribute examined is a defence force in the Czech Republic between 2000 and 2013. During the period, there has been a shift from large and unprofessional armies to the small, modernized, fully professionalized army of the Czech Republic. During a 14-year period there was a decline both in defence expenditures and the decline in the number of military personnel. Our conclusions show that capital expenditures by the end of the period analyzed declines, mandatory spending increases and manpower of the army appears to be insufficient.
