Studie zachycuje rozhodující etapu budování samostatného československého myšlení o válce, kterým se staly 60. léta minulého století. Nejnovější trendy se projevily v činnosti pražské Vojenské politické akademie KG, z jejíhož myšlenkového podhoubí vyrostlo i "Memorandum 68" jako svébytný výraz národní vojenské doktríny. Srpnová okupace Varšavské smlouvy však veškeré naděje na reformu ukončila.

The 1960s in Czechoslovakia were marked by political, cultural and economic reform efforts. The Prague Spring of 1968 became an obvious manifestation of all innovative trends, which could not be avoided even in the area of the Czechoslovak military so marked by Sovietization after the February reversal of 1948. The almost military-doctrinal document, now almost forgotten , which completely openly preferred the Czechoslovak state interests in the field of military and strategic defense of the republic. The present study is a modest contribution that attempts to describe the main moments of the thought struggle that was behind its origin. The memorandum completely deviated from defending the coalition interests of the Warsaw Pact, which was nothing more than a cover for the superpower interests of the Moscow Communists. In doing so, its authors took full advantage of all current trends in military art and military science, especially Western provenance. It is somewhat surprising that such a significant act in the field of domestic thinking about war has not yet been analyzed in more detail, which the following lines intend to at least make up for, at least in some respects.
