Textbook is specialized on design of guns in the region related to proper weapon that are barrels, breeches and recoil mechanisms. The first part is devoted to barrels in their assembly, common requirements on barrels, pressure load, design arrangement and basic strength calculation, both in elastic and post-yield conditions. Heat transfer and thermal stresses in the barrel are also briefly described. In needed range are even described barrel devices and barrel wear together with factors influencing itsservice life. The second part deals with functional principles of gun breeches, design of functional mechanisms, their basic calculations and description of others parts and mechanisms provided safeness of functional cycle. The third part describes recoil mechanisms, in needed extent their theory, design, operation and some technical inspections with a view to recuperators and hydraulic brakes. The basic theory of the recoil and counterrecoil movement is described as well.
