This paper tackles new possibilities of diagnosing combat and special vehicles operated in the Army of the Czech Republic. As compared with older types, new military vehicles equipped with up-to-date electronic nets require different attitude when performing maintenance. Operating data which are taken from the vehicles serve in this case as a basis for performing maintenance. Modern technical equipment fitted with necessary facilities is able to give a lot more detailed information about its operation.This information can be very beneficial when performing and planning maintenance. Modern diagnostics should serve as a basis for modifying a current maintenance system applied in the Army of the Czech Republic.
