The paper is concerned with temporary repairs of combat vehicles. Repairs of armour combat damages rank among serious problems. The main goal of temporary repairs of armour is to restore water-, dust- and gas-tightness and, as a rule, to partly restore ballistic resistance of the armour. The restoration time should be as short as possible, and the treatment applied should not hinder significantly subsequent full restoration of the properties of armour protection according to technical specifications. The use of a diamond wheel for material cutting and THERMANIT XW coated electrode for welding is a possible solution which should quicken the preparation of material and ensure meeting the requirement for weld quality.
