This paper presents the current status of the educatioon factor, and its signifikance for the populations preparartion for national defence. It explains the structure and the new role played by the Ministry of Defence, as wel as the contribution of the state military school to carryng out the education and formation of both defence personal and civilian population of the country in managing and coping with security threats. The paper also outlines the options the current defence personel training systémand the general national education systém have to make themselves profitably interconnected.
