The purpose of the work was to acquire new knowledge concerning plasma nitriding proces of deep narrow cavities. Moreover, to decide whether the plasma nitriding is a technology suitable for the use in cavities subject to considerable stresses. Then, based on experiments, to compare and decide the suitability of plasma nitriding for the use in the armament industry.
