Experience with Objective Measuring of the Coriolis Illusion Influence on the Pilot's Spatial Orientation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Pilot spatial disorientation can result from a variety of human sensing error from which this paper concentrates on the investigation of the illusion impacts on pilot performance. The Coriolis illusion is among the most dangerous of all vestibular illusions. Experimental measurements were performed on a flight simulator and disorientation demonstrator specifically designed for demonstration of the impact of different types of flight illusions. A model situation (flight profile) was created where the pilot is unexpectedly exposed to the flight illusion impact. The main output of this paper is an objective analysis of the Coriolis illusion influence on the pilot's spatial disorientation with an emphasis on individual differences among pilots, as well as to compare the influence of this illusion on the same pilots sample after a certain period fulfilled with additional pilot experience gaining.
