Friction-wear and adhesion properties evaluation of the dlc coatings on 316l stainless steel substrate
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper presents the results of the adhesion and friction-wear properties evaluation of the diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings on stainless steel 316L substrates. These coatings were deposited on both substrates with plasma nitriding (PN/DLC coating) and without plasma nitriding (DLC coating). The adhesion of the DLC coatings on different substrates was evaluated by the scratch test. The critical forces were determined by measuring acoustic emission, the failure modes were determined on laser conformal microscope. The friction-wear properties were evaluated using the ball-on-flat type wear test. The results showed that the friction coefficient of both PN/DLC and DLC coatings was very low, the wear resistance of the coatings was good. The plasma nitrided layer created a suitable layer between the soft substrate and thin hard coating.
