As in virtual shooting ranges, as well as in laboratory conditions, the space is limited to a maximum of 10 meters. Such short distances are suitable at most for mechanical handgun sights, or collimator sights, and for telescopic sights with a maximum of 1.5 times magnification. Therefore, in the article, a design of a front optical element is created, which will allow us to use telescopic sights with commonly used magnifications, for example, in sniper rifles. The initial optical design is elaborated in third-order Seidel space. Furthermore, the article analyses the quality of the optical system formed by the proposed front optical element together with the telescopic sight of the sniper rifle. At the end, we address the possibilities of using the designed front optical element with continuous regulation of the illumination of the entrance pupil of the night sight with an image brightness amplifier, so that we can use the optical system in daylight.
